Metal Stamping Production Methods

Progressive Die Stamping Progressive die stamping is a metal forming process in which a metal strip is converted into components during several staged operations. Multiple stations are set up along the production line, and each section performs different manufacturing tasks on the part as it is transported past. The individual pieces are connected to a rock strip and are eventually cut free at the final stage. Compound Dies Compound die stamping performs a series of individual or compound actions in one stroke instead of over the course of multiple passes. Cuts, bends, and punches are all accomplished almost simultaneously, making it an efficient forming method for flat parts. With only one pass, compound dies provide a cost-efficient way to produce simple parts quickly with high repeatability. Transfer Dies In transfer die stamping, every component is taken through the tooling process as an individual unit. Unlike progressive die stamping where separation occurs in the last step, th
